Stepwise Cooking Guide: How to Cook Sous Vide Swordfish at Home

Step#1: Preheat the Sous vide Pot

Let's start by turning the heat on first and preheat your sous vide pot. For this, take out the large sous vide container. Wash it properly with clean water. Let it dry a little and refill it with clean water before placing it on heat at your desired temperature settings. Keep the heat high to make the process quick.

Step#2: Prep the Swordfish 

While your sous vide pot is heating up, use this time to prep the fish meat. Take out the swordfish and wash it properly with clean water. Dry it thoroughly using paper towels. Make sure that no moisture is left.

Step#3: Season the Swordfish 

When the fish filet is properly dried, season it with your favorite blend of spices.After seasoning the filet, it's time to cook swordfish steak using the sous vide style. 

Put your seasoned swordfish in a vacuum-sealed bag and remove excess air from the bag using the Vacuum Sealer.

Check if the sous vide pot water is hot enough, ready for cooking. Place the fish-containing vacuum-sealed bag inside the water-containing pot.

Step#4: Set the Cooking Time and Temperature

You can hang the bag submerged in the water pot using binder clips to remove air from the bag. Initially don't seal the bag but keep it open so that the air bubbles can escape out due to the water pressure. Once no air is left, seal the bag and immerse the bag completely under the water level.

Let the fish cook on medium heat at 130°-145° temperature for about 30 to 45 minutes. 

Step#5: Serve Your Sous Vide Swordfish! 

Once you see that the fish filet has changed its colour, it's time to serve it hot. Use a pair of kitchen tongs to safely remove the vacuum-sealed bag from water. Open it carefully and with the help of tongs, take out the fish filet on a dish. Pat it dry using a paper towel with light hand movements and enjoy your sous vide swordfish.
